Questions Hernan Portugal, CEO and Founder of Go Music:

How did you come up with the idea of developing Go Music?

The music market was and is currently experiencing a sustained growth. In 2014 Latin America for example, the growth of digital music increased by 124%, and those are impressive numbers. That’s was how we decided to enter with an innovative business model of Revenue Sharing, which shares profits and losses with the different actors involved in the business.

Why choosing Sony Music and Samsung as the main partners for this initiative?

Sony Music has an enshrined name in the music industry, is the number one of the three major companies that currently control the world market. Samsung is the number one in technology and we have a great commitment for our service targeted to Smart TV screens. Both of them have a really active community and are interested in new social network targeted content.

What do you think about the relationship between live streaming and mobile platforms?

It is an increasingly direct relationship. Streaming allows access to live content and that is well complemented with the use that people give to their cell phones and mobile devices in general. Imagine for a second to be able to watch a full length live concert of your favorite band while you’re in line at the bank or in a waiting room. Thanks to the Mobile and Live Streaming technologies we are confident that it will become a common practice soon.
