RAID ON ILLEGAL GATEWAY EXCHANGES AT LODHRAAN

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) along with Federal Investigation agency (FIA) has conducted three successful raids in Lodhraan and seized big operational illegal VoIP gateway exchanges. According to details PTA and FIA teams through combined efforts carried out raids at Sardar Shah Town, Lodhraan and confiscated 40 gateways and more than 5000 SIMs of various mobile operators.  One person was arrested on the spot and was in the custody of FIA for further investigation.

It may be added that PTA is observing the international traffic coming in to the country, round the clock. The aim of monitoring is to identify the illegal gateway exchanges and track the elements operating them. To stop grey traffic in country, these activities are continued under the directions of Dr. Syed Ismail Shah, Chairman PTA and Mr. Abdul Samad, Member (Compliance and Enforcement). PTA Enforcement Division in support of Zonal Directorates are vigilant and requested cooperation of general public in this regard.
