Ismail Shah. This meeting comes after the announcement by Warid that it’s going to establish LTE network in Pakistan. This network would be compatible to run 4G services. Warid that didn’t take part in the 3G/4G auction made this announcement after the deadline to submit the bids for the auction.
According to sources that wish to remain anonymous PTA Chairman was not supportive about Warid’s decision. Chairman Dr. Ismail Shah has reportedly complained that by announcing its decision to implement LTE network Warid may seriously affect the auction process and it is better that it should be delayed for some time.
This is quite responsible action by PTA since the auction has seen many delays and is on a crucial stage. The auction will take place on 23rd of April according to estimates will raise around 1.3 billion dollars. Telecom Authority and Warid Telecom confirmed the high level meeting of Ceo Warid and Chairman PTA. Both are agreed that the establishment of LTE network only after get permission from Telecom Authority.
