Another Major legal fight in Telecom sector

Soon there will be another major legal battle in the courts as Riaz Ashar Siddique and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom are to lock horns after the anticipated dismissal of the CEO of Universal Service Fund.  The notification is expected to be issued on Monday morning after receiving  being approvel by the Prime Minister Of Pakistan.

On the last working day of the HR committee of the MOIT that was held under the supervision of the Federal Secretary it was decided to remove the CEO Riaz Ashar Siddique. It was here decided that the services and performance of the CEO was not up to mark and he should be replaced. It is expected that a senior officer from MOIT will be holding the charge of CEO on temporary basis.

It must be stated here that MR Riaz will be joining a list of four senior officers removed from their posts in the telecom sector. Mr Ismail Shah, Mr Mudasir and Mr Nasir all had to go through very similar experience. But two of them successfully made it back due to the court orders. It is hoped that Mr Riaz Ashar Siddique will also be able to come back.  According to inner circles it is said that two out of eight directors were against this decision adopted by the MOIT HR committee.
