The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has implemented a digital monitoring system for sugar production. Under this system, all sugar mills across the country are required to be monitored through video analytics.

According to the FBR, all sugar mills have been instructed to install modern GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) systems before the start of the crushing season, and mills that fail to do so will not be allowed to continue production.

This system has been introduced to ensure accurate reporting of sugar production and greater tax transparency. The FBR stated that this advanced video analytics tracking system for the sugar sector has been developed in line with international standards.

The FBR also announced measures for the cement industry: starting from November 1, the transportation of cement bags without tax stamps will be prohibited, and each bag will be required to have a unique ID marking.

According to FBR officials, the track-and-trace system in the cement sector has been fully implemented, marking a major milestone in the digital monitoring of industrial production.
