The Ahsan Bhoon Independent Group has secured a clear majority by winning 45 seats in Lahore, according to unofficial results of the Punjab Bar Council elections.

According to the unofficial results of the Punjab Bar Council elections here on Saturday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidates won only 15 seats, while the counting of votes was underway for 15 seats.

The final results of the Punjab Bar Council elections will be announced on November 17. Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar congratulated the Independent Group.

In the battle, there was a close contest between the Ahsan Bhoon Group, which belongs to Independent Group, popularly known as Asma Jahangir Independent Group, and the Hamid Khan Professional Group for 75 seats in Lahore.

More than 132,000 lawyers exercised their right to vote in the election process across Punjab. There was a contest between 77 candidates on 16 seats in Lahore, in which more than 31,000 lawyers cast their votes.

A large number of lawyers, including Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, Ahsan Bhoon, Hamid Khan, Ashfaq Bhullar and Sardar Latif Khosa, exercised their right to vote.

For the polling for the Punjab Bar Council elections, 52 polling booths were set up within the High Court premises, where judicial officers of the judiciary performed their duties as presiding officers.

The polling began at 8:30am and ended at 5:30 pm. A one-hour break was also kept during the polling.

MULTAN  DIVISION

Candidates backed by the Independent Group (Asma Jahangir Group) have emerged victorious on all eight seats of the Punjab Bar Council from Multan Division, according to unconfirmed official results announced late Saturday night.

In Multan district, Malik Malik Langah Advocate, Khawaja Qaiser Butt, Nadeem Kanju, and Syed Badr Raza Gilani won the four seats. In Khanewal, Rao Sultan Ahmed Khan and Malik Abdul Aziz Khan Pinniya Advocate secured both seats, while Rana Liaqat clinched the Lodhran seat and Salman Yousaf Ghumman triumphed from Vehari.

As soon as the results were announced, jubilant scenes were witnessed in the district courts. Supporters lifted the winning candidates on their shoulders, showered them with rose petals, danced the bhangra, and raised slogans to the beat of drums.

The vote counting continued late into the night. According to the district election officials, polling turnout stood at 54.25 percent. A total of 23 candidates were contesting for four seats in the district.

Eleven Additional Sessions Judges served as presiding officers at 11 polling booths established for lawyers and voters. Out of 5,410 registered voters, 2,935 votes were cast. The polling process, held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., concluded peacefully without any untoward incident.

Tight security arrangements were made by the district administration to ensure smooth conduct of the elections. A large number of lawyers, supporters, and voters thronged the court premises throughout the day.

RAWALPINDI

Shahid Mahmood Abbasi, Fakhar Hayat Awan, Muhammad Faisal Malik, Hassan Abbas Hamdani elected as members of Punjab Bar Council on 5 seats in Rawalpindi in Punjab Bar Council elections 2025-2030. Advocate Azmat Ali Mubarak, Advocate Miss Tahira Bano Mubarak and Advocate Miss Uzma Mubarak have congratulated them on being elected as members. They said that this success is a manifestation of service, sincerity and determination for justice, and is a symbol of the sanctity, respect and honor of the black coat which is a metaphor for truth, justice and the supremacy of law. SARGODHA

In Sargodha, Arshad Hanjra and Mian Abdul Qadeer Jalip have won the two seats. Arshad Hanjra secured 1,621 votes, while Mian Abdul Qadeer Jalp obtained 1,568 votes.

RAHIM YAR KHAN

In Rahim Yar Khan, Abdul Basit Khan has won the seat with 192 votes. Akhtar Ali Chahour received 187 votes, and Rao Abdul Rauf gained 175. Out of 505 registered lawyers, 402 cast their votes.

BAHAWALPUR

In Bahawalpur, Zeeshan Haider has been declared successful with 265 votes. Afzal secured 200 votes, while Nasir Joiya received 144.

BAHAWALNAGAR

In Bahawalnagar, Muhammad Imran received 145 votes, Masood Rashid 125, and Imran Chatha 102.

The Returning Officer, Additional Sessions Judge Shahbaz Iqbal Tarar, has announced the results.

Islamabad Bar Council, candidates backed by Bhoon-Tarar group won three out of five seats

ISLAMABAD/LAHORE/KARACHI/QUETTA:

In the Islamabad Bar Council, candidates backed by the Bhoon-Tarar group won three out of five seats, while the Hamid Khan group secured one and an independent candidate claimed another.

From the Bhoon group, Abdul Rehman Hur Bajwa topped the list with 1,369 votes, followed by Aalim Abbasi with 1,351 votes, Hafeezullah Yaqoob with 1,295, Zafar Khokhar with 1,288, and Asif Irfan with 1,126 votes.

Hafeezullah Yaqoob of the Hamid Khan group was also elected as a member of the bar council while Zafar Khokhar won as an independent.

In Rawalpindi, preliminary results for five seats were announced, with Imran Khan’s counsel Faisal Mahmood among the winners. PTI-backed candidates bagged three of the five seats.

Malik Fakhar Hayat secured first position with 2,927 votes, followed by Hassan Abbas Hamdani (2,022 votes), Faisal Malik (1,730), Shahid Mahmood Abbasi (1,738), and Chaudhry Qaiser Mushtaq (1,689 votes).

In Lahore, polling for 75 seats witnessed a neck-and-neck contest. Over 132,300 lawyers exercised their right to vote at 52 polling booths set up across the city.

In the Balochistan Bar Council elections, the Professional Panel clinched three seats. Khalid Mehmood Advocate from Khuzdar was elected with 87 votes, defeating Zahoor Ahmed Advocate who received 43.

From Makran, Lasbela, and Hub, Jareen Dashti Advocate won with 163 votes, while Ayaz Mandokhel prevailed in Loralai by a margin of 56 votes, and Rahib Buleidi Advocate won from Naseerabad.

In Sindh, Law Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar Advocate, Karachi Bar President Amir Nawaz Warraich, and Naeem Qureshi were among the winners in the Sindh Bar Council elections.
