Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian at the Presidential Palace in Tehran on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed Pakistan-Iran relations, the regional situation, the Palestine issue, and other global and regional developments. Matters of mutual interest also came under discussion.

President Pezeshkian, while recalling the recent Iran-Israel war, thanked the people, government, and Jamaat-e-Islami of Pakistan for standing with Tehran. He said Iran had given a strong response to Israeli aggression and achieved victory with the help of Allah. The Iranian President stressed that Pakistanis also deserve congratulations on this success.

He added that the hostile attitude of some Western countries toward Iran stemmed from Tehran’s firm opposition to Israeli aggression in Palestine. “Iran will continue to stand by its principled position and extend moral and diplomatic support to the oppressed Palestinians. Israel’s existence is a threat to peace across the Muslim world,” Pezeshkian said. He further noted that Pakistan and Iran, as neighboring Muslim nations, had grown closer in recent days and would continue working together for the welfare of their peoples and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said his visit was aimed at expressing solidarity with the Iranian people and government. He assured the Iranian President that the people of Pakistan firmly stood with their Iranian brothers. “The two neighboring Muslim nations are bound by deep religious and cultural ties — truly one soul in two bodies,” he remarked.

The JI Emir also thanked Iran for its support on issues concerning Pakistan, including Kashmir. He pledged that Jamaat-e-Islami would continue to play its role in strengthening bilateral ties and fostering Muslim unity. Rehman stressed that Iran and Pakistan should move forward together, setting aside minor differences, to achieve the greater goals of peace, brotherhood, economic prosperity, and the unity of the Ummah.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, who is on an official visit to Iran with a delegation, also met Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi earlier on Tuesday.
