Pakistan possesses assets that could serve U.S. interests

U.S. magazine Bloomberg has reported that Pakistan has become a favored nation of U.S. President Donald Trump, while India is under increasing pressure. According to Bloomberg, Pakistan has played its cards very effectively with Trump and is among the few countries that have successfully finalized a trade agreement with the United States.
The magazine states that contacts between the Trump administration and Pakistan began during the India-Pakistan conflict, during which Pakistan welcomed Trump’s call for a ceasefire, whereas India denied any U.S. role in mediating a truce.
Bloomberg further notes that Pakistan holds assets that could benefit American interests, including some of the world’s largest untapped gold and copper reserves.
It is also worth noting that Bloomberg previously claimed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi avoided meeting U.S. President Trump due to fear of a possible encounter with Field Marshal Asim Munir. According to the report, Modi declined a dinner invitation from President Trump on June 17, fearing that he might be introduced to Field Marshal Munir.
The magazine also stated that a 45-minute phone call took place between President Trump and Modi on June 17, which became a turning point in U.S.-India relations. The tense nature of this conversation reportedly sparked a strain in diplomatic ties between Washington and New Delhi.
