Speaking on the regulator’s perspective regarding the development of a robust digital ecosystem, PTA Chairman Major General (Retired) Hafeez ur Rehman outlined the Authority’s future roadmap. He termed the alignment of telecom charges with international standards as a significant policy advancement — achieved through continuous efforts and effective consultation with government bodies — which has helped foster an investor-friendly environment.

He further emphasized that better internet access is essential for inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development.
Commenting on future connectivity, the Chairman prioritized the timely resolution of spectrum-related challenges and the early launch of 5G services as top national priorities. He stressed that effective collaboration between private, public, and international organizations is critical for promoting digital progress and establishing a modern, integrated, and empowered digital state.
The Chairman also highlighted PTA’s vital role in continuous policy reforms, infrastructure enhancement, and promotion of digital innovation, calling it a foundation not only for comprehensive and sustainable digital transformation but also for achieving national development goals.
