IHC has ordered CDA to take action after verification of the commercial use of the land
Azeem Chaudhry says the fare of 25 canal land is being paid only Rs 625 annually

Instead of the orders of Islamabad High Court (IHC) and Public Accounts Committee (PAC) no action has been taken against Roots Millennium School established on trust land in the heart of Islamabad.
Islamabad High Court has ordered Capital Development Authority (CDA) to take action after verification of the commercial use of the land. On the other hand the sub-committee of the PAC chaired by Malik Muhammad Aamir Dogar and comprising Muhammad Riaz Fatyana and Senator Dr. Afnanullah Khan had ordered cancellation of the allotment. The CDA had ensured to take back the occupation of the plot.
The applicant in the IHC, former chief organizing secretary of Muslim League and analyst Azeem Chaudhry in an interview has said that due to the commercial activities in the residential area the lives of the people have become difficult, business is being done on the plot taken on the name of trust. The fare of the 25 canal land is being paid only Rs 625 annually. He said that if the CDA will not comply with the court orders then we will file the contempt of court petition.
According to the details, the plot allotted to the trust by the CDA is being used on commercial basis. The Roots Millennium School has been established on the only trust plot allotted in F-10-2, Islamabad. The local resident and former chief organizing secretary of Muslim League and analyst Azeem Chaudhry and his wife former MNA Asia Azeem Chaudhry have filed petition in Islamabad High Court against the commercial use of trust plot.
Azeem Chaudhry said during the tenure of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, CDA allotted this trust plot to former PPP leader Naheed Khan’s sister and she established the Roots Millennium School on the plot. He said that the price of the plot is approximately Rs 1.75 billion.
