During a press briefing, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the world must take notice of Israeli aggression; we were forced to target economic objectives, and retaliatory strikes on Israel were conducted in self-defense, which is Iran’s legitimate right.
Araghchi clarified that Tehran does not wish to escalate the war unless forced to do so. “We do not want the war to spread to other countries in the region.”
He further stated that there is clear evidence of U.S. backing for Israel. Iran will not become part of any agreement that deprives it of nuclear energy. Iran’s position of not pursuing nuclear weapons is final, and its right to a peaceful nuclear program is non-negotiable.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also revealed that Iran was ready to give the necessary assurances to the U.S. during negotiations and had planned to present a counter-proposal during the now-cancelled sixth round of talks. However, the proposals presented by the U.S. were completely unacceptable for Iran. Iran’s counter-proposal could have paved the way for an agreement with the U.S.
He added that Israel opposes any diplomatic progress between Iran and the U.S. and seeks to sabotage the chances of an agreement. Iran will not back down from its right to a peaceful nuclear program.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi. China announced full support for Iran against Israeli aggression and strongly condemned Israel’s excessive use of force.
According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Wang Yi assured Iran that China considers any aggression against Iran unacceptable and will continue to raise its voice against violations of international norms. He emphasized that Iran has full rights to the peaceful use of nuclear energy and advised Israel to halt military actions to prevent further escalation of tensions.
The Chinese Foreign Minister also contacted his Israeli counterpart, expressing concern over the ongoing Middle East tensions and advised Israel to cease military operations and avoid further escalation.
U.S. President Donald Trump warned Iran to refrain from attacking American installations, while also offering to mediate between Iran and Israel.
In a statement issued on his platform Truth Social, Trump said that the U.S. has no involvement in tonight’s attack on Iran and warned Iran not to attack American interests.
Trump warned that if the U.S. is attacked in any way, the full force and power of the U.S. Armed Forces will be unleashed upon Iran in an unprecedented manner. While offering mediation, he stated that, “We can easily broker an agreement between Iran and Israel and bring an end to this bloody conflict.”
Meanwhile, on Saturday, U.S. President Donald Trump hosted the largest American military parade in decades on his 79th birthday. Following a display of tanks, fighter jets, and military units, Trump declared America the most popular country in the world, praised the military, and said, “These soldiers fight and win.” The parade was held in Washington on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Armed Forces.
In his speech at the parade, Trump warned America’s opponents that those who challenge the U.S. will face complete and absolute defeat, while the risk of U.S. entanglement in the Israel-Iran conflict continues to rise. Trump said that repeatedly, America’s enemies have learned that if you threaten the American people, our soldiers will come for you.
It is evident that Western countries, especially the U.S., are at the peak of hypocrisy and are openly displaying it. On one hand, U.S. President Trump, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and French President Macron declare their support for Israel, transfer their missile defense systems to intercept Iranian missiles, and on the other hand, threaten Iran for not entering into agreements and hypocritically blame Iran for the situation.
