Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take urgent diplomatic initiative by convening a summit of leaders from Islamic and friendly countries to halt Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza. He said Pakistan must now play a leadership role for the oppressed people of Gaza and Kashmir.

Addressing a massive pro-Gaza rally in Hyderabad, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said, “We have celebrated the symbolic victory against India long enough. Now it’s time to support the oppressed—whether in Gaza or Kashmir.” He warned that the government, formed under Form 47 (a reference to electoral rigging), should not forget that despite widespread concerns, the nation stood united with it during recent tensions with India. “But if silence over Gaza continues, this support won’t last,” he cautioned. He emphasized that trade with India would not be acceptable without a resolution to the Kashmir issue. “The people of Gaza have exposed the true face of the West and revealed the clear divide between truth and falsehood.”

Criticizing the silence of Pakistan’s major political parties—PML-N, PPP, and PTI—over Israeli atrocities and their failure to condemn the United States, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said, “These parties are desperate to please Washington. They must reflect on their conduct, because the nation sees them clearly now.”

He also reminded PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif that the public hasn’t forgotten his overtures toward friendship with India. “For Nawaz Sharif, the Pakistan-India border may just be a line, but for the people, it is a blood-soaked boundary,” he said. He urged the former PM to stop his ministers from making controversial remarks against nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan. “If you spit at the moon, it falls back on your own face,” he said, calling Dr. Qadeer a benefactor of not just Pakistan but the entire Muslim Ummah.

The JI chief also appealed to Pakistan’s military leadership to support the oppressed people of Gaza. “The people have made it clear—they stand against imperial powers like the US and Israel,” he said. “They are questioning Muslim rulers: Why are you silent on the genocide in Gaza?”

Criticizing Arab rulers for appeasing former U.S. President Donald Trump, he said, “Trump came to the Arab world to collect tribute. And yet, not one of these leaders dared to confront him over Israel’s crimes.” “America is not just Israel’s supporter—it is its partner in war crimes,” he added, saying bombs in Gaza are not only dropped by Netanyahu but also by Washington. “Our ruling and opposition parties—PML-N, PPP, PTI—are all afraid of Washington.”

He slammed the United Nations for its inaction on Gaza. “When it comes to Iraq or South Sudan, the UN becomes active overnight. But it turns a blind eye to atrocities in Palestine and Kashmir.”

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman urged the Pakistani government to coordinate with allies such as China, Turkey, and others to launch international efforts to stop the Gaza bloodshed. Discussing the worsening domestic situation, he said, “Each province is plagued by crises—Sindh under the rule of bandits, workers and farmers protesting in Punjab, unrest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and enforced disappearances in Balochistan. Yet, despite these issues, the nation united against India. The government must preserve this spirit by addressing national problems and standing for the oppressed.” “Pakistan will have to fight the Ummah’s battle now,” he declared. “Our million marches are evidence that the people reject Israel and America.”

He announced that Jamaat-e-Islami will intensify its campaign against Israel, strengthen local brands, and escalate the boycott of Israeli products. “We will continue holding million marches,” he vowed.

Provincial Emir Kashif Saeed Sheikh, General Secretary Muhammad Yousuf, Deputy Emir Afzal Siddique, Altaf Mallah, and Hyderabad Emir Hafiz Tahir Majeed also addressed the Gaza March.

A large crowd, including women and children, was present at the venue. Upon Hafiz Naeem’s arrival, participants raised powerful slogans such as “Nara-e-Takbeer: Allahu Akbar,” “Our bond with Palestine: La ilaha illallah,” and “Anyone who supports Israel is a traitor!”

The emir of Hyderabad presented Hafiz Naeemur Rehman with a sword as a token of appreciation. Hafiz Naeem declared the Gaza March the largest public gathering in the history of Hyderabad.
