Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said the recent war between Pakistan and India has brought the Kashmir issue back into global focus, urging the Government of Pakistan to seize the moment and push for a resolution of the dispute as per United Nations resolutions.
Speaking at “Youm-e-Tashakur” (Thanksgiving Day) rallies organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir in Abbaspur, Hajeera, Dwarandi, and Battal sectors, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman emphasized that neither the Kashmiri people nor the people of Pakistan would accept any compromise short of the right to self-determination. “Without resolving the Kashmir dispute, peace in the region is impossible,” he declared.
The JI chief called on the government to ensure the safety of civilians living along the Line of Control (LoC) and to provide both men and women with the necessary training to face wartime conditions. He reiterated that every drop of blood shed by innocent civilians and martyrs during India’s recent aggression would be avenged. “Without a just resolution to the Kashmir issue, any form of trade or normalization with India is unacceptable,” he said.
Rejecting any suggestions of Kashmir’s division under the guise of international mediation, he warned against accepting any such proposal from figures like Donald Trump. “Kashmir is a pending dispute on the UN Security Council’s agenda, and no unilateral mediation will be tolerated by either Kashmiris or Pakistanis,” he said.
During his visit, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman met with families of those martyred in the conflict, offered prayers for the elevation of their ranks, and praised their sacrifice. He also visited frontline troops stationed along the LoC, lauding their courage and commitment in defending the homeland.
Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Khan, Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir, along with other party leaders, also addressed the rallies and reaffirmed their solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman reassured the people of Kashmir that Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and the country’s 250 million citizens stand firmly with them. He called Pakistan’s recent military victory a victory for Kashmiris, saying, “The Pakistan Army has shattered Indian aggression and earned global recognition. The entire Muslim world shares in this moment of pride and satisfaction.”
He issued a stern warning to the Pakistani leadership, stating that the nation would never forgive any betrayal of Kashmiri martyrs’ blood. “Jamaat-e-Islami has supported the Kashmiri freedom movement since day one and will continue to do so until final victory,” he said. “From Battal to Karachi, from the ceasefire line to Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber, the nation is united and speaking with one voice. In this war, the entire country stood shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Army, rising above all political and ideological differences,” he concluded.
