Chief Executive Officer of German/Swiss Investment Fund, Tobias Hundertmark, visited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) on Thursday to explore promising avenues of investment in Pakistan. He termed the interaction with the Chamber as highly productive and expressed his firm’s strong interest in joint ventures, particularly in the automobile manufacturing sector.
Highlighting his firm’s global experience in mergers and acquisitions, Hundertmark revealed plans to establish manufacturing plants for heavy military-grade trucks as well as commercial light and heavy vehicles in Pakistan. He praised Pakistan as an emerging investment destination, citing its market potential and strategic location. He was accompanied by Sohail S. Kiani, CEO of Canadian investment and trading firm S.A.R.F. Investment LLC, Mansoor Shaikh, representing a well-known textile family, and Mahr Shaban of Advance Era Tech.
Welcoming the delegation, Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, President of ICCI, briefed the visitors on the Chamber’s mission to support economic development, policy advocacy, and facilitate member businesses across multiple sectors. He emphasized the export potential of Pakistan in areas such as sports goods, surgical instruments, minerals, pharmaceuticals, and textiles, and highlighted Islamabad’s growing strengths in IT, education, real estate, and services despite prevailing economic challenges. He assured full support for facilitating future collaborations.
Advisor to the ICCI President, Mr. Naeem Siddiqui, elaborated on the Chamber’s initiatives and the vast landscape of investment opportunities available in Pakistan. Mansoor Shaikh and Mahar Sunhan also shared insights into their companies’ operations and expressed their commitment to contribute to Pakistan’s economic growth through strategic investments.
The meeting was attended by ICCI Senior Vice President Abdul Rehman Siddiqui, Vice President Nasir Mehmood Chaudhry, Executive Members Imran Minhas, Waseem Chaudhry, Zulqurnain Abbasi, and Raja Naveed Satti.
