News of 40 Billion Rupee Corruption Scandal in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is Alarming
PTI Government and Leadership Must Be Held Accountable: Liaqat Baloch
Islamabad / Lahore (Web News):
Deputy Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami and Secretary General of Milli Yakjehti Council, Liaqat Baloch, announced that the Supreme Council meeting of the Milli Yakjehti Council will be held on May 11 in Islamabad. In light of global developments, the state of the Muslim world, the situation in Palestine and Kashmir, and the recent bloodshed of tourists under the surveillance of illegal Indian occupation forces in Pahalgam (India), allegedly as part of a false flag operation creating a war-like atmosphere against Pakistan, this meeting holds great significance. Leaders of all religious parties will approve a joint plan of action. The meeting will be hosted by Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, head of the Shia Ulema Council. A committee meeting will be held in Islamabad to manage the administrative arrangements for the session.
The Milli Yakjehti Council is a non-electoral platform of the country’s prominent religious parties for promoting sectarian harmony, unity of the Ummah, the Two-Nation Theory, and safeguarding Islamic laws and values. In the past, it was led by prominent figures such as Allama Shah Ahmad Noorani (RA) and Qazi Hussain Ahmad (RA). Currently, Sahibzada Dr. Abul Khair Zubair is its central president.
Speaking to media and social media representatives after offering condolences at Markaz Ahl-e-Hadith over the death of Professor Sajid Mir, Liaqat Baloch said that India’s persistent lies following the Pahalgam incident are forcing global powers to consider mediation. If Pakistan had been involved in the Pahalgam incident, global powers would have taken India’s side. The tension and threats of war between Pakistan and India pose not just regional but global risks. The international community must hold India accountable for its proven lies.
He stated that India has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty just as it revoked constitutional articles that granted special status to Kashmir. Changing the statehood of Occupied Kashmir is a blatant violation of dozens of UN resolutions and global decisions and constitutes an international crime. Through its false flag operation in Pahalgam, India is trying to divert the world’s attention from the Israeli massacres and genocide in Gaza, thus supporting Israel’s brutal military campaign. Israel has cut off all aid, food, medicines, and essential supplies to Gaza for over two months, using hunger as a weapon and continuously bombing unarmed civilians, women, and children to forcibly expel them. Now, after failing to do so, Israel has summoned its reserve forces for a final, decisive operation to fully capture Gaza.
The people of Pakistan stand united and vocal against India and in support of Palestinians. India is also taking continuous hostile actions against Bangladesh due to the fall of its puppet regime and the rise of a new public voice in that country. This Indian approach to fueling regional tensions is isolating India on the global stage.
Responding to media questions, Liaqat Baloch said that the government must raise a strong voice internationally against India’s water terrorism. It is extremely sad and unfortunate that under the pretext of border tensions with India, the federal and provincial governments have severely oppressed wheat farmers and agricultural workers. Even in India, farmers have risen against Modi’s agricultural terrorism, and the Pakistani government is forcing its farmers to follow the same path. Instead of increasing the tax burden on salaried employees and pensioners, the government should reduce it. The recent 200% increase in the salaries and perks of ministers and members of the assembly and the provision of relief to the privileged class while squeezing the public must be stopped. The reports of a 40-billion-rupee corruption scandal in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are deeply concerning. The PTI government and its leadership must be held accountable.
