Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb meets with team of Deloitte on the sidelines of WB Group/ IMF Spring Meetings 2025

Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on Monday held a meeting with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.

Pakistan’s Finance Secretary and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) governor were also present at the meeting.

IMF’s Pakistan Mission chief Nathan Porter also attended the meeting.

On this occasion, Pakistan’s finance minister shed light on Pakistan’s economic agenda and reforms. He also briefed the visitors about Pakistan’s compliance with the IMF programme.

Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb met with the team of Deloitte on the sidelines of the World Bank Group/ IMF Spring Meetings 2025 and briefed them on Pakistan’s macroeconomic outlook, government’s sectoral development agenda and export-led growth priorities.

Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb also explored cooperation in the areas of energy sector reforms, extraction and marketing of critical minerals, privatization, technology, crypto policy and operationalization of Country Partnership Framework (CPF). Finance Minister welcomed the visit of the team of Deloitte to Pakistan in May, 2025.

Meanwhile Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with Ms. Hela Cheikhrouhou, Regional Vice President of the International Finance Corporation and her team.

Both sides explored cooperation in the areas of private sector reforms, energy transition, sound municipal finance and full employment. The meeting reviewed the progress on Diversified Payment Rights (DPR).

The Minister appreciated the lead role of IFC in raising $2.5 billion in debt financing for Reko Diq Copper & Gold Mine Project in Balochistan.

He also emphasized that benefits under the project should accrue to the local community as well.
