Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faiz Isa chaired the important meeting related to the amendments in the Judicial Commission Rules was adjourned on the proposal of the Federal Minister of Law and Justice Senator Chaudhry Azam Nazir Tarar, in which it was said that the government should amend the Articles of the Constitution. 175 -A , due to which the composition of the Judicial Commission may also change. Senior Supreme Court Judge Justice Yahya Khan Afridi suggested that since the government wants to introduce constitutional amendments, it would be appropriate to put on the agenda The debate should be adjourned. The meeting was adjourned after the proposal of Justice Yahya Afridi. While the commission has decided that the appointment of judges in the High Court should continue under the existing rules. A meeting regarding amendments in the Judicial Commission Rules was held on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa. In the meeting, the most senior judge of the Supreme Court, Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Aminuddin Khan, former Supreme Court judge Manzoor Ahmad Malik, Chief Justices of five High Courts, the most senior judges of five High Courts, Chief Justice Federal Shariah Court Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman, Senior Judge of Federal Shariah Court, Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Chaudhry Azam Nazir Tarar, Attorney General of Pakistan Mansoor Usman Awan, Law Ministers of the four provinces, Senior Member of Pakistan Bar Council Akhtar Hussain Ahadvocate , four provinces and one member of Islamabad Bar Council attended the meeting. Registrar Supreme Court Miss Jazeela Aslam also participated in the meeting. After the meeting of the judicial commission, the minutes of the meeting were released. At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the commission welcomed all the members. According to the announcement issued by the Supreme Court, the agenda of the meeting was to review the proposed amendments in the Judicial Commission Rules. The meeting started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. The Secretary Registrar Supreme Court of the Commission introduced the agenda of the meeting which was the proposed rules of the commission prepared by the committee comprising Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice (retd) Manzoor Ahmad Malik. The committee came into existence under the notification issued on December 8, 2023 after the decision of the Judicial Commission on December 4, 2023. Chairman Judicial Commission Qazi Faiz Isa highlighted the agenda of the meeting and asked all the members for their opinion on the proposed proposals. -A is considering the amendment, the composition of the Judicial Commission may be changed through the proposed amendment. Justice Yahya Afridi proposed not to discuss the agenda and adjourn the meeting. All the members agreed to adjourn the meeting.
