In a statement, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller emphasized the imperative of thoroughly investigating allegations of election interference and fraud in compliance with the nation’s laws.

Miller reiterated the United States’ commitment to upholding the rule of law, respecting constitutional principles, promoting a free media environment, and fostering a vibrant civil society within Pakistan. He strongly condemned instances of political violence, as well as internet and phone blackouts that occurred during the election period.

Regarding the ongoing consultations among political parties for the formation of Pakistan’s new government, Miller stated that it is premature to draw any conclusions at this juncture. He underscored the readiness of the United States to collaborate with the elected leadership chosen by the Pakistani people.

Despite expressing concern over the electoral process’s complications, Miller extended congratulations to the Pakistani populace for their active engagement in the electoral proceedings. He noted that Britain, the European Union, and other countries have also echoed similar concerns about the electoral process in Pakistan.
