The stage of scrutiny of the candidates for the general elections 2024 has been completed across the country. The leader of Nawaz Sharif and Chairman of People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have been declared eligible to contest the elections. Appeals can be filed against by January 3. The Appellate Tribunal will decide on the appeals of the candidates by January 10, election symbols will be allotted to the candidates on January 13. 470 on 14 seats of the National Assembly and 30 seats of the Provincial Assembly from Lahore. Scrutiny of 1407 candidates has been completed. Shehbaz Sharif from National Assembly Constituency NA-123, Hamza Shehbaz, Atta Tarar from NA-117, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari from Constituency NA-127 and Quaid from NA-130. (N) League leader Nawaz Sharif’s papers were accepted without any objection. The reviewing officers nominated Dr. Yasmin Rashid from NA-130, PTI founder Imran Khan and Khurram Latif Khosa from NA-122 while Hamad from NA-129. Karachi (Sabah News) Grand Democratic Alliance leader and former Interior Minister of Sindh Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza along with his wife and two sons have been nominated. Mirza submitted nomination papers from different constituencies of the national and provincial assembly from Badin to participate in the general elections on February 8. People’s Party candidates, who are considered rivals of the Mirza family, filed objections to these nomination papers. It was said that the people who submitted the papers are bank defaulters. The Mirza family has announced to challenge the decision to reject the nomination papers.

Quetta (Sabah News) The nomination papers of Sardar Akhtar Mengal, head of Balochistan National Party (BNP Group) from 2 constituencies of the National Assembly and one constituency of the Provincial Assembly were rejected.
