The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) on Thursday sealed Lal Haveli used by Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.

Police and FIA personnel assisted the ETPB in sealing the place. ETPB Deputy Administrator Asif Khan completed the operation and sealed the main doors of Lal Haveli.

The former interior minister’s office and the passage leading to the main hall of Lal Haveli were sealed. During the operation, the property used by the senior politician and seven units including the place used for political meetings were also sealed.

After the operation, the officials of the ETPB locked the main gate of Lal Haveli.

Asif Khan, while speaking to media, said the Elite Force, police and FIA assisted the Board to complete the operation. He, however, admitted that the registry of Lal Haveli was not fake and it was cancelled after action.

He said Rashid could appeal against the action and go for legal recourse.

Earlier, the Islamabad sessions court had reserved its verdict on the bail petitions of the PTI chairman and former interior minister Sheikh Rashid in the long march vandalism case. The hearing of the case was held in the district and sessions court of Islamabad.

Advocate Naeem Panjutha appeared on behalf of the suspects in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Sohaib Bilal. Advocate Panjutha pleaded that the PTI chairman was detained while Sheikh Rashid was abducted and there was no clue to the whereabouts of Sadaqat Ali Abbasi.
