The launch of one of whatsapp’s most significant features for both Android and iOS was recently launched by Meta, who owns the service.

One Whatsapp account can now be used across numerous devices without having to sign out. Users will be able to move between phones and continue conversations where left off on the other device, thanks to this functionality. Up until recently, users could only utilise one account across various computers and laptops but not smartphones.

“We’re improving our multi-device offering further by introducing the ability to use the same WhatsApp account on multiple phones,” WhatsApp announced.

According to the meta-owned platform, the feature has begun rolling out worldwide and is expected to be accessible to everyone in the upcoming weeks.

With this additional functionality, which has been greatly desired by users, the people will be able to link their phones as one of the additional devices that could be up to four of them. The same as when one links with Whatsapp on web browsers, tablets and desktops or laptops.

In order to provide end-to-end encryption of a user’s private messages, media, and calls, each pairedd phone connects to Whatsapp independently. Messaging is made simpler by connecting phones as companion devices. A user can now choose to swap between smartphones without signing out from the primary device and continue chatting from where they left off on the other phone.

Small company operators as well as individual users gain from the change. Under one same Whatsapp Business account, any employee can now respond to clients directly from their phones. Additionally, Whatsapp is providing a different, more approachable method of connecting to companion devices.

Instead of sccaning a QR code, one may now just enter their phone number on Whatsapp Web to get a one-time-password (OTP) that they can use on their phone to enable device linking.
