Significant Potential and Trade opportunities exist, need to explore and unlock to further strengthen bilateral trade between Indonesia and Pakistan, said the Ambassador of Indonesia

The business community of Pakistan should play its due role in promoting trade and investment in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) markets such as Indonesia, stated by Adam Mulawarman Tugio the Ambassador of Indonesia in Pakistan during a meeting with the Aminullah Baig, Vice President FPCCI at its Capital Office Islamabad. The meeting was also attended by Umar Masood Ur Rehman, Vice President FPCCI and other members. The Ambassador said that both nations have immense potential for cooperation in diverse fields including tourism, trade, e-commerce, textile, automobile, pharmaceutical, surgical, sports and defence. The strengthening of bilateral trade and investment could benefit the business communities of both countries, he mentioned. He said that Pakistan’s trade with Indonesia is significant with surplus in favour of Indonesia mainly due to Pakistan’s import of palm oil, he invited Pakistani business people to explore Indonesian market to enhance Pakistani export to Indonesia. He also highlighted tourism, pharmaceutical, surgical, herbal medicine, spices, and other important sectors as new avenues of cooperation and stressed on the need to explore and unlock the opportunities between the two countries. The envoy claimed that there are significant potential and trade opportunities to strengthen bilateral trade between Indonesia and Pakistan.

Amin Ullah Baig Vice President FPCCI & Incarge Capital Office also assured his utmost support in enhancing two-way trade. He mentioned that Indonesia is an attractive business destination for Pakistan which can be further maximized through the implementation of trade activities and cooperation programs through business associations & communities of both countries. He drew the attention of the envoy towards the emerging tourism in both countries and said that there is need to establish a joint platform of both the countries for collaboration in tourism and facilitating the tourists.

On this occasion, Umar Masood ur Rehman Vice President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has said that the Pakistani business community would continue to work together to strengthen bilateral ties with Indonesian businessmen and promote bilateral trade. Pakistan has been enjoying excellent relations with Indonesia for a long time and it is hoped that this journey of friendship will continue forever. He said that there were vast opportunities for trade and investment between the two countries. Pakistan offers attractive opportunities for investment and joint ventures to foreign investors, he added, which would definitely benefit Indonesian investors, and will also lead to prosperity and development for both countries and the ASEAN region as well.

The Vice Presidents FPCCI urged for cooperative ventures between Pakistan and Indonesia to develop bilateral trade and expressed that Pakistan-Indonesia bilateral trade and economic relations can be further strengthened by the exchange of business-to-business delegations, organizing of joint trade exhibitions, and taking equal benefit.
