Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that according to the information so far collected, prima facie senior journalist and anchorperson Muhammad Arshad Sharif has been murdered and it was a targeted murder. He said that the stance adopted by Kenyan police regarding mistaken identity has not been proved and there are great doubts about it. He said that if it is a murder, which prima facei is, then Waqqar and Khurram in no way excluded from this matter and without them it is not possible.
This was stated by Rana Sanaullah Khan while addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday. Replying a question, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the file work is being completed for granting permission to Islamabad police for taking action to reopen the motorway while talking action against the PTI protesters.
Replying another question regarding the imposition of governor rule in Punjab, Rana Sanaullah said that all these things are for doing and for the betterment, help and facilitation of the people everything will be done. He said that the statement of Advisor to PM, Engineer Ameer Muqam Khan regarding imposition of governor rule is his personal thinking and he enjoys the right to think about this and present his suggestion in the cabinet, adding that the cabinet under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will take the decision with majority regarding the matter.
He said that Imran Khan says he is brining revolution and sea of people and it is his condition that he could not get register one FIR of his own choice, adding that Imran Khan has even no courage to got register one false FIR in Punjab for himself so he should understand which revolution he will bring.
Replying another question, Rana Sanaullah said that Rangers’ and FC is being provided for the security of the Punjab Governor House. Rana Sanaullah said that according to his information, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has written letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan regarding formation of commission to probe murder of Arshad Sharif.
He said that the team sent by Pakistani government to Kenya for the probe of Arshad Sharif murder case has returned back to Pakistan and he has taken briefing from the team and there are some things which need further probe in the matter, adding that he has asked the team to visit Dubai also and confront the things which are necessary. Rana Sanaullah said that for securing the data sought by team from Kenyan, he will personally request the Kenyan ambassador and Foreign Office will also write to the Kenyan government. He said that there is need of many things to secure and confronting them in this case is very necessary. He said that the conclusions drawn by the two-member committee of the FIA are reason based. He said that if Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Ata Bandial takes consent from the mother of late Arshad Sharif in appointing the head of the commission to probe Arshad Sharif murder it will be matter of satisfaction for us. He said that excess has been done with Arshad Sharif, adding that it has been surfaced that the Kenyan police commit this kind of action while taking money. He said that those opened fire had knowledge that out of two persons sitting in the vehicle who is Arshad Sharif and on which seat he is sitting, on which side is sitting, who is driving the vehicle and the person who was driving had also knowledge that at which place what will happen and in which way he has to save himself, adding that prima facei it looks clemency. He said that so far Kenyan police delayed provision of things sought by Pakistani team. Rana Sanaullah said that when prime minister will return back from Egypt, he will request PM to again contact with the Kenyan president and ensure provision of all the required things, adding that many things of Arshad Sharif have been recovered and some things intentionally have not been provided by the Kenyan police and are in their custody. Rana Sanaullah said there is need to further investigate the matter. He said we are hopeful to reach the culprits very soon.
He said that FIA is conducting inquiry into the speech of Imran Khan and ascertaining that whether any offense has been committed according to Pakistan Penal Code or Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, adding that if in preliminary inquiry it would surface that under such and such clause crime has been committee then federal government or FIA will take action.
He said that Imran Khan is not brining long march towards Islamabad, instead two provinces are attacking the federation. He said that masses are not protesting, instead two provincial governments are holding protest.
Rana Sanaullah Khan emphasized on provincial governments to fulfill their duties according to law and constitution and take measures to open roads and motorways under their jurisdiction.
He said provincial governments of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been reminded in written about their responsibilities. The Interior Minister said PTI Chief Imran Khan has created difficulties for people and his fitna march has been completely rejected by the people.
