Milipol Qatar Winds Up with Contracts Worth 592 Million Riyals and 11500 Visitors

Under the patronage of  Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, the 14th edition of the International Event for Internal Security and Civil Defense, Milipol Qatar 2022, held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, concluded today evening. The 15th edition of the Milipol Qatar is scheduled for October 29, 2024.

During a press conference held on this occasion, Maj. Gen. Nasser bin Fahad Al Thani, Chairman of the Milipol Qatar Committee said that, this edition of the expo achieved great success and crossed many records, indicating that the value of the total deals signed during the  Milipol Qatar 2022  reached 592 million riyals and more than 11500 persons visited the expo.

He also added that the exhibition was covered by 587 media representatives from different countries of the world and 389 official delegations including Their Excellencies the ministers, police leaders and heads of diplomatic missions attended the opening of the exhibition from a number of brotherly and friendly countries.

‘222 exhibitors from 22 countries from different continents around the world took part in the exhibition, in which 60 percent of the exhibitors participating for the first time. The exhibitors that participated for the first time belonged to eight countries such as Australia, Canada, Cyprus, Croatia, Finland, India, the Netherlands and Slovakia.” Maj. Gen. Nasser bin Fahd al-Thani mentioned.

Giving details on the participation of the countries in the expo, Milipol Qatar chairman said that the exhibition included pavilions representing 5 countries such as France, North America, Germany, Italy and Austria, which participates for the first time, as well as individual international participation. 99 exhibitors from Qatar participated in the expo and  many exhibitors, in which most of them are specialized in the field of cybersecurity have expressed their desire to participate in the next version, which is scheduled for 29 to 31 October 2024.

As Qatar takes advantage of this important security event in securing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Maj. Gen. Al Thani  said that, security companies had been marketed to showcase their products for the tournament and many of them responded and participated in this edition. The cybersecurity and securing major events have become extremely important for many countries and Qatar is keen to keep up with the development in this aspect and is on the right track.

For his part, Francois Jullien, the Milipol Events Director, stressed the significance of this major security event in the region in gathering all competent entities in homeland security and civil defence sectors and being a platform that creates fruitful links between them.

He added that the event this year covered the entire spectrum of homeland security and civil defence. Anti-drone technology and firefighting were also strongly represented.

The Director of Milipol International Events extended his appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Interior for organizing this important event, providing all facilities and support for exhibitors, and creating an appropriate atmosphere for concluding deals and agreements between exhibitors.

Milipol Qatar, which is organized every two years, allows companies to showcase their latest innovations in various security sectors, civil defence, defense solutions and equipment, security and communications technology, rescue and law enforcement products, communications software and others.
