Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa says misinformation and propaganda by inimical forces threatens National cohesion which must be identified and countered collectively through a unified response.

He made these remarks while interacting with the students and faculty members during his visit to Lahore University of Management Sciences on Tuesday.

He said that Pakistan is blessed with dynamic and talented youth. He said human resource development, innovation and technological advancements are vital for progress.

The army chief appreciated the role and contributions of LUMS in preparing future leadership of Pakistan.

Earlier, the chief of army staff attended induction ceremony of SH-15 Artillery Guns in Corps of Artillery.

He expressed satisfaction on induction of this State of the Art weapon system to meet the future battlefield challenges.

He said Induction of these most modern guns with increased range, battle field mobility and accuracy would assuredly enhance operational preparedness of Pakistan Army.

248th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) was held General Headquarters (GHQ), presided by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

According to the statement issued by DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar on twitter on Tuesday, the forum was given comprehensive briefing on important global/regional developments, internal security situation in the country & progress on Western Border Management Regime.

The Forum reviewed with concern, the recent incident of missile firing, claimed as accidental by India, which could have resulted in a major disaster. It was emphasized that despite Indian acknowledgment of the mistake, relevant international forums must take a serious view of the incident and subject the safety and security protocols of Indian strategic assets to deliberate oversight. Such dangerous incidents can act as trigger and seriously endanger regional peace and strategic stability.

COAS lauded successful ongoing counter terrorism operations. The forum expressed resolve to take all requisite measures to ensure security of the country. COAS directed that comprehensive security measures be ensured for peaceful conduct of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting and Pakistan Day Parade. COAS appreciated operational preparedness of the formations and emphasized on mission oriented training.
