Indian forces in their fresh acts of state terrorism on Sunday martyred five more Kashmiri youth in Pulwama and Budgam districts of occupied Kashmir.

The Indian troops martyred four youth during a cordon and search operation in the Naira area of Pulwama district and martyred one youth during an operation in Charar-i-Sharief area of Budgam. The operations were going on till the last reports came in.

Meanwhile, over a dozen Gujar and Bakarwal families are on a sit-in protest after being rendered homeless by the authorities at Roop Nagar in Indian occupied Kashmir.

The Gujjar and Bakerwal families are demanding justice and a shelter to live in, saying their houses stood there for the last 70 years but the authorities demolished their homes.

The families and their lawyer said that the houses were demolished despite a status quo order by a sessions court in Jammu. They have been deprived only because they are poor people and no one listens to them. If there was rule of law, the authorities would have served them notice before demolition.

Pakistan has strongly condemned the reported extra-judicial killing of five Kashmiris in Pulwama and Budgam in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) by the Indian occupation forces on 29-30 January 2022.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmad in a statement issued on Sunday said that in their unabated reign of terror, the Indian occupation forces have martyred at least 23 Kashmiris in fake “encounters” and so-called cordon-and-search operations in the month of January alone.

He said that driven by the far-right extremist ‘Hindutva’ ideology that provokes and condones genocide of Muslims, the Indian forces are relentlessly targeting the Kashmiris, especially youth, in the occupied territory.

Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said that the international community must act to stop this wanton oppression and persecution of the besieged Kashmiris under illegal occupation.

“We also reject and condemn the Indian officials’ lies insinuating the killing of an alleged “Pakistani” resistance fighter. The Indian occupation forces are known to kill innocent Kashmiris passing them off as “alleged militants”, in the hope of getting monetary rewards or ‘gallantry’ medals” he said.

Pakistan salutes the resilience of the Kashmiri people who continue to stand firm in their just and peaceful struggle for their legitimate right to self-determination as pledged to them by the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

Foreign Office Spokesperson said that we also reiterate our call on the international community, including the United Nations, to hold India accountable for its gross and systematic human rights violations and crimes against humanity in IIOJK, without further delay.
