Samsung Electronics Co. named its newly merged mobile-phone and home-appliances businesses “DX Division” as the tech giant moves to strengthen its corporate structure.

DX, which stands for Device eXperience, reflects the company’s focus on targeting consumer demand in a variety of electronics, the South Korean firm said in a statement Sunday.

Samsung recently announced that it has merged its IT & Mobile Communications and Consumer Electronics divisions into a single business unit. Now, the company has revealed that its newly-merged business arm is called Samsung DX (Device eXperience), which is a commitment to creating new and meaningful experiences for consumers.

The South Korean firm’s new business entity is headed by Vice Chairman and CEO Jong-Hee Han. Samsung DX consists of Digital Appliances Business (home appliances), Health & Medical Equipment Business, MX Business (Mobile eXperience), Visual Display Business (TV), and Samsung Networks (telecommunication network equipment). Samsung Electronics said in a press release that the new naming scheme “reflects the company’s longer-term future-oriented business structure and stronger global leadership.”

With Samsung DX, the company hopes to create more synergy between various business units to create differentiated and high-quality products and services. Jong-Hee Han was earlier heading the company’s Samsung Visual Display business that makes TVs, commercial displays, and monitors. He helped the company maintain its number one position in the global TV market for 15 years consecutively.

Samsung Electronics now consists of two primary business arms: Samsung DX and Device Solutions. The Device Solutions has three businesses: Memory (makes DRAM and NAND memory products), Samsung Foundry (contract semiconductor chip manufacturer), and System LSI (that designs Exynos chips and ISOCELL camera sensors).
