Muslim Commercial bank’s appeal rejected by President of Pakistan

President Dr Arif Alvi has rejected the appeal of  Muslim Commercial  bank against the decision of the Banking Ombudsman.

According to details, the President has rejected the request of  bank for refusing to return the money to the victim of fraud.

Dr. Arif Alvi said that the bank should deposit back the amount of about Rs. 5 lakh in the account of the affected citizen.

The President said that the responsibility of protecting the rights and interests of the consumers rests with the bank, the bank should inform its customers about electronic money transfer.

It is to be noted that Rs 500,000 was withdrawn from the bank account of a Karachi citizen through internet banking on the provision of personal information to an unknown person. Were obtained.

The ombudsman’s decision said the bank committed mismanagement by transferring more than the daily limit applicable to the account without the citizen’s permission.
