Three-day Solar Pakistan, Electricity Pakistan Expos conclude

The three-day 8th Edition of Solar Pakistan and 2nd Edition of Electricity Pakistan were concluded on Saturday here at Expo Centre Lahore.

More than 100 exhibitors from over 10 countries participated in the event organized by FAKT Exhibitions, aimed at introducing latest solar technology in Pakistan.

WAPDA Chairman Lieutenant General (r) Muzammil Hussain addressed the 38th Annual General Meeting of the Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Pakistan (IEEEP) which was also held with collaboration of the FAKT Exhibitions.

The WAPDA Chairman also visited different stalls of Solar Pakistan and Electricity Pakistan Expos on this occasion. On the stalls, the world renowned electric and solar companies showcased their energy-efficiency technology products and services, providing the participants with an opportunity to interact with industry experts, stay current with industry developments, establish new business contacts and find potential suppliers. The participating countries included China, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Germany, Korea, Italy, Turkey, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan and the USA.

The displayed products on the stall included batteries, latest solar panel, inverters and various equipments, electric appliances and machineries. Several Chinese companies also took part in the expo. Foreign companies showed their keen interest to enter Pakistan market.

The three-day exhibition attracted thousands of visitors from all over the country. The three-day exhibitions were designed to harness the creativity of local innovators to address the most pressing issues in the energy sector.

FAKT Exhibitions CEO Saleem Khan Tanoli, while addressing the concluding ceremony, stressed the need for renewable energy, saying the country has tremendous potential to generate power through wind, hydro and solar. He observed that the renewable energy could bring manifold benefits to the national economy as it would reduce cost of doing business, promote industrialization, encourage investment, create plenty of new jobs and enhance exports. He said that green energy sources like wind and solar were getting key focus on the global level as they were viable sources of energy at affordable cost.

Saleem Khan Tanoli said that Pakistan offers excellent conditions for solar power generation, adding the country has 2.9 million megawatts of solar energy capacity besides photovoltaic opportunities.
