UIT Student Wins Outstanding Diplomat at Model United Nations

KARACHI (PRESS RELEASE)

Usman Institute of Technology (UIT) affiliated with NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi, is proud to announce that two UIT students, under UIT MUNNERS Society participated in ZABMUN X (SZABIST Model United Nations) at a local hotel. Mr. Hamza Khalid won the award for outstanding diplomat who is also the student chairperson of UIT MUNNERS Society. His topic ‘Vision 2030: Targets and Solutions Pertinent to Pakistan’s Growth and Stability’, emerged as a clear winner with its elucidating analysis and propositions.

The UIT-MUNNERS Society’s vision is to provide the youth of Pakistan with a platform with resources to guide their ideas and voice their opinions while inculcating the art of conflict resolution in its members. The society assists students in gaining a United Nations’ perspective on issues that are of concern to the world. By nurturing decision making, analytics and creative thinking skills in students to help them become better leaders of tomorrow. Furthermore, the society actively works towards develop public speaking and debating skills. The society helps students in honing their intellectual, negotiation and diplomacy skills. These simulated conferences guide Pakistan’s youth to deploy a pragmatic approach towards global issues and trains them to polish their oratory skills.

UIT stated that – “The UIT MUNNERS Society adds elements to stimulate the minds and bodies of its delegates every year in order to make it both a learning and enjoyable experience. We aim to facilitate the Pakistani youth with resources to help channel their ideas in an effective way, by promoting diversity and laying emphasis on the art of diplomacy.
