ECP bans mobile phones in polling stations during Presidential elections

LAHORE (MEDIA REPORT)

The Election Commission of Pakistan on Friday morning banned the members of Senate, National and all provincial assemblies from carrying mobile phones or any other electronic device in the premises of the polling station during presidential election.

The commission has issued directives to all the presiding officers in this regard and has asked to ensure secrecy of ballot.

The Presidential Election is scheduled to take place on September 4 through secret balloting at 10am.

The final list of candidates, participating in presidential election was issued by ECP on Thursday.

The candidates include Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Dr. Arif Alvi, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) backed Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
