Chief Justice of Pakistan was appealed to take note of sacking of COMSATS employees

ISLAMABAD (TELECOALERT SPECIAL)

Several affected workers and a young daughter of a dismissed employee of the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology have appealed to Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar to take notice of the sacking-spree at the institute allegedly at the behest of a federal minister.

According to sources, the COMSATS has so far dismissed 500 employees including the faculty staff, contractual workers, daily-wagers and sweepers. The sacked employees allege that they have been sacked at the behest of Minister for Defence Production and Science and Technology Rana Tanvir Hussain, who, according to them, has stuffed his own blue-eyed men in their place.

The dismissed employees say that the sacking has taken a toll on their financial wellbeing and they have withdrawn their children from schools as they could no more afford to bear the educational cost of their children.

The affected employees and their children including Jugnoo, whose video has gone viral, have appealed to the chief justice to take cognizance of the issue and issue orders to the COMSTS administration to reinstate them.

Repeated attempts to take a version of the COMSATS administration did not materialize as an official was ready to give the account of the issue. At least one official, requesting anonymity, said that “what is going on is really disturbing and somebody must stop this”
