Prison Management Information System installed in 20 prisons in Punjab

Prison Management Information System (PMIS) is an information system designed by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in collaboration with Punjab Prisons Department to computerize and automate the prisoner’s related matters and day to day operations in Prisons. This seminar is a platform where stake holders from international community (Donors and representatives from the civil society) and government officials will participate and shall be briefed on the design of PMIS, including admission and release, FIR, under section and warrant administration, management of daily court, medical treatments, visitors, court decisions, remission, appeal and general movement of prisoners. This system is already installed in 20 prisons in Punjab along with the provision of necessary equipment and networking, UNODC also provided onsite and subject matter training to the prisons officials.
