Huawei Shipped Over 100 Million Smartphones in 2015

Huawei shipped more than 100 million smartphones during 2015, making it the first Chinese vendor to break the landmark.

The company said that sales rose by 44 percent in 2015 compared to a year before to reach 108 million. Huawei cited strong sales in China and Western Europe as it moved up market.

The company is however still lagging a long way behind the two market leaders. Huawei is estimated to have a market share of 7.5 percent, behind Apple’s 13.5 percent and Samsung’s 23.8 percent.

Huawei said revenue for the devices division rose by 70 percent year-on-year to $20 billion in 2015.
