INTEL. Education Solutions Workshop in collaboration with Viper Technology

KARACHI ( TAHIR REPORT )

Intel Pakistan recently held an Intel Education Solutions Workshop in collaboration with Viper Technology, where educators representing public- and private-sector institutions from across Lahore were given a detailed briefing on Intel Classmate PC, according to a press release from Intel on Monday.

Delegates were given a briefing using the Classroom on Wheels (COW) concept. COW is a complete lab built into a cart with its own back-up power, it said. All the systems are connected to each other, it explained, which makes the learning experience more enjoyable, while giving the teacher complete control over the student’s systems.

According to the Country Manager of Intel Pakistan, Naveed Siraj, his company’s goal is “to improve the quality of education in Pakistan by ensuring that there is education transformation in the classroom. The Intel Learning series makes learning possible anytime anywhere.” Intel Education Solutions include a full-featured open architecture with software applications that promote learning through exploration.

The press release quoted Faisal Sheikh, the director of Viper Technology, as saying that “the unique concept of Classroom on Wheels is now deployed in more than 450 schools, private and public, across Pakistan.”

He added that while COW provides a complete one-to-one solution that makes learning enjoyable and teaching more efficient, “its main advantage lies in the capital cost—you don’t need large air-conditioned rooms: the entire lab equipment is packed in one small cart.”
