SC HEARS CONST. P. NO. 26 OF 2013 REGARDING 3G

Today, a three member bench headed by Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and comprising on other two judges, namely, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Gulzar Ahmed heard the Const. P. No. 26 of 2013 filed by Mr. Khurram Shahzad Chughtai Vs Federation of Pakistan through Secretary of Information Technology, PTA, Frequency Allocation Board and Universal Service Fund through CEO, Islamabad.
The petition was filed under article 184(3) of the Constitution praying for modernization and fine telecommunication services to citizens of Pakistan . The petitioner further prayed for early completion of the process of appointment of the three members of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority on urgent basis rendering the authority functional and to issue directions to respondents to undertake and complete the auction of the 3G spectrum and licenses on urgent basis.
Hearing the case the Bench issued notices to respondents for filing parawise comments within 10 days and issued notice to Attorney General for Pakistan
