Young fast blowers from Ufone-PCB “King of speed” trials

Three lucky fast bowlers selected through Ufone – PCB “King of Speed” trials have joined the national bowling camp here at National Stadium Karachi. The camp is being supervised by former captain of the Pakistan National Cricket team Wasim Akram. All three entrants are extremely jubilant on joining such a high profile bowling camp.

Wasim Akram, who is also the brand ambassador of the fastest data network, Ufone, welcomed these young fast bowlers on joining the camp. During the first day of training, Wasim Akram examined the bowling styles as well as level of fitness of these young bowlers. Later, he provided some useful tips to them including the art of swing and reverse swing.

“The boys certainly possess talent, they simply need to be groomed further”, said the legendary former captain of national team and added further that, “to begin with, we would have to focus on enhancing the fitness level of these youngsters’. Muhammad Imran and Abdul Ameer from Karachi and Faisal Yasin from Faisalabad are the lucky participants who have been selected for the camp by leaving thousands of competitors behind, through a wild card entry.

All three youngsters termed the opportunity of being trained by Wasim Akram as their lifetime dream. They pledged to give a hundred percent in the camp and said that they would not disappoint Ufone or PCB with respect to their performance. They expressed thanks to Ufone and PCB for providing this wonderful opportunity by taking this giant step.

It may be recalled here that Ufone and PCB, almost two weeks back, had initiated “King of Speed” trials in ten different cities of Pakistan including Multan, Faisalabad, Garhi Khuda Baksh, Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, AJK (Mirpur), Abbottabad and Lahore. A total of 20 fast bowlers got selected from Round 1 of the trials while three lucky fast bowlers have been selected after Round 2 to join national camp being led by Wasim Akram.
