The committee directed Ministry of Information Technology to write a letter to ministry of interior to place their name on ECL list moreover decleared them defaulters the companies account may be freezed . This direction issue in the meeting of the standing committee of Information Technology & Telecommunication was held under the chair of Ch Muhammad Barjees Tahir on Thrusday in Parliament House.
The committee was informed that approximately 16 billion rupees is outstanding against those celluler companies which they have failed to make payment within 90 days. The committee observed that the celluler companies are playing delaying tactics to clear their outstanding amount on the basis of legal aid.
The committee recommended that those companies may be declared as defaulters. The committee directed Ministry of Information Technology to write a letter to ministry of interior to place their name on ECL list moreover the companies account may be freezed as to forced them to make the payments.
The committee expressed concern on the poor performance on IT Policy and viewed that the projects which were supposed to be completed in 2000 have not been completed so for . The committee directed Ministry to complete the projects on priority basis within stipulated time and further directed that only those projects should be undertake which could be feasible to be completed within targeted time.
