Aman Aziz Siddiqui is likely to be appointed as new President of National Bank of Pakistan. Aman Aziz, former banker of Bank of America and now working in the Board of Directors of Dubai Islamic Bank has been short-listed along with four other candidates for the top post of the National Bank of Pakistan Pak Vip Media reported.

Interestingly, Ministry of Finance has also interviewed and short-listed two controversial bankers for this post _ one is Saeed Ahmed, Deputy Governor of State Bank of Pakistan, who is famous for his role in money-laundering for Sharifs and also mentioned in the affidavit of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

Saeed Ahmed is relative of Ishaq Dar and confidant in money laundering.
Second controversial banker is Now sherwan Adil, who is facing inquiry in NAB and FIA for his involvement in tax fraud case. Adil was retired from the NBP in Dec 2016, but in Jan-2017 he managed to get six months extension.
If proper and fit criteria of State Bank is applied in the appointment of the new President of National Bank, Aman Aziz Siddiqui will be on the top of the contenders, said sources.
Finance Ministry will send three names to Prime Minister for the selection of President of National Bank. If any controversial banker is given the top post, it will created mess in the bank
