AJ&K And GB Talent Exhibit At PNCA

Special Communications Organization (SCO) in collaboration with the Pakistan National Council of Arts held a painting exhibition today. The exhibition featured 100 breathtaking painting and sketches under the theme of ‘My Land-My People’ by students of educational institutes from Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. These cards of art selected out of thousands of paintings from both the regions.

The event was inaugurated by Begum President Mrs Samina Alvi as Chief Guest. She appreciated and encouraged the efforts of SCO’ team and the artwork by all the budding artists. She specially felicitated SCO for coming out with a novel idea and selection of an inspiring theme. She said, “The world needs to take notice athat while our children in Azad Jammu & Kashmir as well as Gilgit-Baltistan are showcasing their aesthetic talents, the children in the occupied valley yearn for free air and dream to enjoy the beauty around themselves”.

The paintings exhibited in this exhibition had bold and vibrant colours. The artist had not only to the landscapes and historical landmarks, but traditional, culture and natural beauty of the regions were also exhibited through the brushes, pencils and crayons.

DG Special Communications Organization (SCO) Major General Ali Farhan while addressing the participants said, “The primary purpose of this initiative is to acknowledge the talent of youth from remote regions and to showcase it at the national scene”.

People from all walks of life including the participants, their families, art enthusiasts and media were invited to attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition. Prizes and certificates were handed over to the winners during the ceremony. The exhibition will continue till July 26.
