Pakistan Telecom Authority has decided that all SIMs that were not verified or were disowned by consumers will be permanently stuck from the records after 12 July. The number of SIMs that were not verified or disowned amount to 98.3 million. These SIMs will no longer be attached to any CNIC as well.
This was revealed to TelecoAlert.com by a source within PTA. It must be stated here that Telenor had the highest number of SIMs that were not verified or were disowned which is 36.9 million. They are followed by Mobilink with the number of 22.3 million SIMs.
