On Saturday, the Go AI Hub Pakistan was inaugurated in Islamabad, marking a historic step to promote digital cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. This project has been launched in partnership between the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoIT&T) and the Saudi company Go Telecom (Etihad Atheer Telecommunication Company).

This milestone is a significant step towards further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), data infrastructure, and human resource development, made possible under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to promote strategic investment partnerships with Saudi Arabia.

The high-level ceremony was attended by Federal Minister for IT & Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, CEO of Go Telecom Yahya bin Saleh Al Mansour, senior officials from SIFC, and representatives of Pakistan’s technology ecosystem.

CEO of Go Telecom, Yahya bin Saleh Al Mansour, reiterated his company’s long-term commitment to Pakistan’s digital development. This project came into being as a result of high-level contacts under the SIFC framework, which materialized after the Prime Minister’s recent visit to Riyadh. The signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) pertain to the development of data center and AI infrastructure, the establishment of the Go Talent Hub, and the operational launch of the Go AI Hub Pakistan.

This development is a testament to the success of SIFC and the Ministry of IT & Telecommunication in translating bilateral intentions into practical partnerships, which are boosting Pakistan’s digital transformation and elevating both countries as key partners in the global innovation landscape.

Shaza Fatima said that the agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will result in billions of rupees in investment. She added that the country is on the path of progress and self-reliance under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, and SIFC has played the role of a bridge for cooperation between the two countries.
