Israeli tanks on Sunday made a major advance into densely populated residential areas of Gaza City. In the past 24 hours, Israeli warplanes targeted more than 140 sites. Gaza’s Ministry of Health announced that during the past 24 hours, as a result of the brutal attacks by the occupying Israeli forces, 79 more Palestinians were martyred, including two bodies recovered from under the rubble, while 379 people with severe and moderate injuries were transferred to various hospitals in the Gaza Strip.

According to the Ministry of Health, during the same period, attacks on aid workers and laborers resulted in six martyrs and 66 wounded being brought to hospitals. With this, the total number of Palestinians martyred while seeking their livelihood has risen to 2,566, while the number of injured has exceeded 18,769.

The ministry further explained that since March 18, 2025, until today, the total number of martyrs from the occupying Israeli forces’ brutal attacks has reached 13,137, and the number of injured has surpassed 56,121. The report added that since October 7, 2023, a total of 66,005 Palestinians have been martyred, while 168,162 Palestinians have suffered varying degrees of injuries during Israel’s ongoing aggression.

The Ministry of Health stated that dozens of Palestinians are still trapped under the rubble or lying as scattered bodies in the streets, where ambulances and civil defense teams are unable to reach due to the enemy’s blind airstrikes and continuous shelling. In addition, Israeli tanks made a large advance on Sunday into heavily populated residential areas of Gaza City.

According to the local health department, they are unable to respond to dozens of calls for aid. The department expressed grave concern over the situation of civilians in the targeted areas.

According to Arab media, eyewitnesses and aid workers reported that Israeli forces carried out large-scale operations in the neighborhoods of Sabra, Tel al-Hawa, Sheikh Radwan, and al-Nasr. These are areas near the city center and western districts where hundreds of thousands of people have taken refuge. The Israeli army had launched its ground operation on September 16, after several weeks of heavy air bombardment that displaced thousands, although many people still remain there.

The Palestinian Civil Defense stated that Israel rejected 73 requests from international organizations related to evacuating the wounded. Israeli authorities made no comment on this. The army claimed it had expanded operations in the city and killed five fighters who had launched an anti-tank missile.

In the past 24 hours, Israeli warplanes targeted more than 140 sites. According to the local health department, at least five people were martyred in an airstrike in the al-Nasr neighborhood, while another 16 were killed in attacks on homes in central Gaza.

The siege has worsened the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. According to the World Health Organization, four medical centers in the city have closed this month. The World Food Programme reported that between 35,000 to 40,000 people have left the city since last month; however, millions still remain. According to the Israeli army, about one million Palestinians were residing in the city as of August.
