Ishaq Dar receives delegation of National Citizen Party led by Akhtar Hossain

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar called on Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of Bangladesh in Dhaka on Sunday.

According to the statement issued by Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan, the discussion covered revival of old connections between the two countries, promoting youth linkages, enhancing connectivity, and augmenting trade and economic cooperation. The recent developments in the region and the prospects of regional cooperation were also discussed.

Ishaq Dar conveyed the Prime Minister’s greetings for the Chief Adviser. He apprised the Chief Adviser of his engagements in Dhaka and the key outcomes of his visit. He also thanked the Chief Adviser for the excellent visit arrangements and the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation during the course of visit.

Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received a delegation of National Citizen Party (NCP), led by Akhtar Hossain. During the discussion, DPM/FM appreciated the NCP leadership’s vision for reform and social justice. He emphasised the need for greater interaction between the youth of Pakistan and Bangladesh.

According to the statement issued by Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan, for their part, the delegation members apprised the Ishaq Dar of different facets of countrywide political mobilisation in 2024. The two sides also discussed possibilities to promote cultural exchanges between Pakistan and Bangladesh in the days ahead.
