National Assembly reaffirms Pakistan’s historic & unwavering support for Palestinian people
Expresses deep concerns over the continuing & escalating Israeli military aggression in Gaza

The National Assembly resumed its session at the parliament house in Islamabad on Wednesday with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in the chair.
The House passed a resolution reaffirming Pakistan’s historic and unwavering support for Palestinian people and their struggle for freedom, dignity and justice.
The resolution moved by Shazia Atta Marri expressed deep concerns over the continuing and escalating Israeli military aggression in Gaza saying this has resulted in the killing of civilians and widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure.
The resolution strongly condemned the recent statements and actions by Israeli authorities indicating plans for long-term occupation of Gaza, forced displacement of its population and efforts to erase the Palestinian identity of the territory. It also condemned the use of starvation, siege and collective punishment as tools of war, emphasizing that these acts are war crimes under international law.
The House called upon the UN and the international community to fulfill their moral and legal responsibilities by taking immediate and concrete steps to end Israeli military aggression in Gaza and ensure the protection of civilians and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance. It emphasized that the occupying power be held accountable for its war crimes and crimes against humanity and that the Palestinian people be supported in their quest for justice and self-determination.
The resolution urged the government to continue to raise its voice for the Palestinian people at all international forums including the United Nations and the OIC.
The House also passed a resolution urging the federal government to strengthen the legal framework to ensure strict punishment for unauthorized video recording, cyber harassment and digital defamation.
The resolution moved by Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar emphasized the need for enhancing the capacity of law enforcement agencies including digital forensic units to investigate and respond promptly and effectively.
It called for launching targeted public awareness campaigns about digital rights, legal remedies and safe reporting channels in addition to establishing dedicated complaint desks in police stations.
The House called for the introduction of education modules in educational institutions covering digital ethics, privacy rights and anti-harassment laws.
The National Assembly passed a resolution strongly condemning the unlawful acts of so called honour killings.
The resolution moved by Shahida Rehmani emphasized the need for zero tolerance towards such acts. It proposed the formation of an interprovincial task force for coordinated action against these acts.
Meanwhile, two bills were laid before the House. These included Pakistan Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2025 and the Motor Vehicles Industry Development Bill, 2025.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhary laid before the house the Capital Development Authority Amendment Ordinance, 2025 while Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain laid before the house the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority Ordinance, 2025.
Responding to a calling attention notice, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhary stated that a major water project is being planned to address the water needs of the twin cities, Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Additionally, he said initiatives such as recharge wells have been undertaken to improve the underground water level.
The National Assembly was informed that the issue concerning the employees of the Utility Stores Corporation will be resolved through a golden handshake scheme.
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, told the house during question hour that the Prime Minister had established a committee to amicably address the concerns of the Utility Stores Corporation employees.
Minister of State for Climate Change Shezra Mansab Ali Khan Kharal told the House that a national climate finance strategy is being developed with the core objective to leverage climate finance internationally and domestically by promoting green financing. She said Recharge Pakistan project has been launched to ensure water conservation. She said the government is focusing on the development of climate resilient infrastructure in the country. She said we are also working with the provincial governments to curb deforestation.
The National Assembly on Wednesday passed two bills: These included: The Societies Registration Amendment Bill, 2025 and the Criminal Laws Amendment Bill, 2025.
