ISLAMABAD  (  WEB  NEWS   )

In a move that could signal a significant shift in the country’s political dynamics, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan at his residence.

According to media reports, the two discussed key political matters during the meeting. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar also accompanied the Prime Minister. The meeting is seen as an attempt by the Prime Minister to reconcile with Chaudhry Nisar, who has remained politically distant in recent years due to his differences with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The last known meeting between the two took place on September 7, 2024, when PM Shehbaz visited Nisar to offer condolences over his sister’s passing. Chaudhry Nisar, once a senior figure in the PML-N, had been associated with the party for over 34 years before parting ways in 2018, citing a commitment to “respectable politics” and personal principles.

In the 2018 general elections, he ran as an independent candidate from four constituencies—two National Assembly and two provincial assembly seats—but secured only one provincial seat.
