A delegation led by Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Pakistan Ethan Sun met Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal. During the meeting China Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC phase Along with various projects to be included in the II project list, cooperation opportunities regarding Pakistan’s digital economy strategy were discussed. Both sides also discussed the transformation of digital economy under CPEC and its positive effects. In the meeting, both sides expressed the need to promote an enabling environment for sustainable development, while four important pillars were identified for establishing a strong digital corridor, including connectivity, data centers, firewall protection and Smart governance is included. On this occasion, the Federal Minister said that these elements are very important to promote economic development in the digital age. On this occasion, the President of Huawei assured the Federal Minister that Pakistan is a major trading hub for the major consumers of the Middle East countries. The federal minister said that comprehensive digital transformation is the only way to sustainable economic development for our nation. During the meeting, the establishment of Huawei manufacturing setup in Pakistan was also discussed. Federal Minister for Planning stressed the importance of providing digital infrastructure for the new era economy and launched Islamabad as a model smart city. Also proposed to do. Wang Shunli appreciated the steps being taken by the Government of Pakistan regarding digital infrastructure and also assured his full cooperation.
