Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif says the 9th May will always be remembered as Black Day in the history of Pakistan.

Chairing a meeting on law and order situation in Lahore on Sunday, PM Shehbaz Sharif said everyone who was involved in the incidents of 9th May will be brought to justice. He said the enemies of Pakistan not only attacked General Headquarters (GHQ) but also burned Jinnah House and public properties. The Prime Minister said Radio Pakistan Peshawar and FC school were also set on fire on 9th May.

He said those who were involved in attacking the military installations will not go free and they will be arrested.

PM Shehbaz Sharif said Imran Niazi did what the enemies of Pakistan could not do in 75 years.

PM Shehbaz Sharif likened the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). PM Shehbaz Sharif said, “The TTP attacked the GHQ, and these enemies of the state (PTI) also attacked the GHQ.” During the May 9 riots. The office of Radio Pakistan in Peshawar was also vandalised, he lamented.

Believing that May 9 violence will affect the nation psychologically for years to come, PM Shehbaz Sharif asserted that the May 9 miscreants will not be allowed to “run away from the law”.

In line with the May 9 vandalism, PM Shehbaz Sharif took a jibe at former prime minister Imran Khan, PM Shehbaz Sharif said, ” The day will be remembered when terrorism was committed against the state on the orders of Imran Khan.” “It has been decided that everyone involved in the events of May 9 [planners, perpetrators, or anyone else] will be punished according to the law and the constitution,” the premier maintained. The premier vowed those involved in attacks on civic institutions will be prosecuted in civil courts under the Anti-Terrorism Act. He said that those who attacked the military installations will be tried under the law provided in the Constitution.

The meeting also reviewed the progress made on decisions of National Security Committee. The meeting was attended by Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Minister for Railways and Aviation Khawaja Muhammad Saad Rafique, Minister for Law and Justice Senator Chaudhry Azam Nazeer Tarar Advocate, SAPMs Ahad Khan Cheema, Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan, Ataullah Tarar Advocate, Provincial Caretaker Information Minister Amir Mir and other high officials.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said the government is making all-out efforts for the revival of the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) Lahore to make it a world-class hospital.

In a tweet on Sunday, he said his Saturday’s visit to the PKLI was aimed at reviewing the restoration efforts being made in this regard.

The Prime Minister expressed his desire to make this wonderful hospital the John Hopkins of Pakistan and that may become the country’s identity for the treatment of kidney and liver diseases.
