The business community of Pakistan is united under the leadership of President FPCCI Irfan Iqbal Sheikh this was affirmed by the leadership of the business community in the National Consultative Conference organized at FPCCI Capital Office Islamabad. The national trade bodies’ showed their deep concern about the current economic situation and discuss the solutions to the problems faced by the business community in the session, indicating presenting the Charter of Economy to the government very soon. The President of FPCCI said that no economic decision is acceptable without consulting the business community and this is a consensus statement of the business community in Pakistan.

According to the details, the first session of the National Consultative Conference on the National Economic Plan of Chambers and Associations for Economic Development under the leadership of Irfan Iqbal Sheikh President of FPCCI was held at FPCCI Capital Office Islamabad. FPCCI Vice President and In-Charge Capital Office Aminullah Baig, Vice President Umar Masudur Rehman, Chairman Coordination Mirza Abdul Rehman, Coordinator Peshawar Office Sartaj Ahmed Khan and Presidents of the Chambers of Commerce and Chairmen of the Associations of the Federal Area and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated in the conference.

The participants of the conference discussed the current economic situation of the country and demanded that  FPCCI should play its role by stating the problems related to taxes, import of raw materials, problems faced by the poultry industry and other industries, including the early closure of business. The participants expressed their full confidence in the President of FPCCI and assured the cooperation of all chambers and associations.

Addressing the conference, FPCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said that the purpose of this event today is not only to unite the business community of Pakistan but also to solve their problems. The FPCCI and all trade bodies of the country will work together regarding the economic and commercial development of Pakistan. Short-term and long-term policies will have to be made to improve the economy of Pakistan.  All the problems of the country can be solved only when the political and economic leadership sit together with good intentions and sincerity to come up with the best economic model to get the country out of the current economic crisis and present the strategy to the nation. Irfan Iqbal Shaikh added that agreeing on the Charter of Economy is the need of the hour. All economic matters should be handled with consensus decisions with the recommendations of FPCCI and trade bodies which are major stakeholders.

To take the country out of economic crisis and on the path of development for which FPCCI has started the process of preparation for the Charter of Economy. This conference of the Chambers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federal Area is a link in this chain. He said that the second session of the conference will be held today in Lahore on January 7, in which the representatives of chambers and associations from all across Punjab province will participate. Likewise, the third session of the conference will be held in Karachi on January 10 January, in which the chambers and associations of Sindh and Baluchistan will participate. After the completion of the consultation process with all the trade bodies, the Charter of Economy will be prepared and shared with the Government and all the political parties of the country for consensus and the final announcement will be made at the National Conference in Islamabad on February 2023.
