Modern technology to be used for general elections: Zafar

ISLAMABAD (MEDIA REPORT)

Information Minister Barrister Ali Zafar says caretaker government will extend full cooperation to the Election Commission for timely, peaceful and transparent conduct of general elections scheduled for 25th of next month.

He was talking to the media persons in Islamabad on Thursday after a meeting with the Chief Election Commission Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan.
The Information Minister assured that security will be provided at the polling stations keeping in view the sensitivity of the particular polling station.

Barrister Ali Zafar said that modern technology will be used in the general elections and the caretaker government will provide the funds required for the smooth conduct of the polls.

Responding to a question, the Minister made it clear that the caretaker government will not indulge in any blame game or demonstrate any favoritism or partiality.
He said that FIA and National Accountability Bureau have to do their work and the caretakers will not interfere in their domain.

Similarly, he said the government has no authority to interfere in the cases and trials being heard in the courts. He said this policy of non interference is imperative to strengthen the institutions and take forward the country on the path of development.
